“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” (Viktor Frankl)
“I’ve been in and out of therapy for the last 15 years and I would just like to say that Baiba is one of the kindest and helpful therapists I’ve ever had.”
“Baiba, from the very first instance, made me feel so safe to explore all that was coming to the surface. Having come across her website, I felt intuitively that she was the perfect therapist to work with me in these discoveries, and she was that, and more. On reflection, It’s surprising to me at how much ‘work’ we did in 5 months and how much I was able to notice patterns and begin to surrender to them, allowing myself (potentially for the first time) the right to feel the ‘bad’ stuff - like jealousy and shame. I learnt that through compassion, we can give these feelings space to exist and space to be let go. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Baiba, It’s been monumental. ”
“Sessions with Baiba have really changed how I think and feel about myself, and how I deal with difficult situations (big and small).”
“I thought that counselling through online video would be a barrier but it wasn’t at all. Therapy with Baiba helped me tremendously.”
“My previous experiences with therapy were mixed; I had not always seen value from the sessions and consequently had struggled to stay with a single therapist for more than a few months. However, I continued therapy with Baiba for almost a year, and saw significant benefits from the work we did together. Baiba adjusted the sessions on a weekly basis, changing the focus and depth of inquiry depending on what I needed. Some weeks that meant exploring past traumas, unpicking relationships and discussing behavioural and thought patterns. However, in weeks where I was struggling more with day-to-day matters, and perhaps didn’t have the emotional capacity to reflect on more difficult topics, Baiba was able to adjust the session to deal with these factors and target the session accordingly. This structure helped me to deal with immediate challenges I was facing; knowing that I would have an opportunity to talk through any issue at the next session was somehow comforting even between sessions and, while talking with Baiba, it was possible to see better approaches I could take to manage situations I was finding difficult. The past inquiry work we did helped me towards longer-term goals I had for therapy including improving my relationships, dealing with anxiety, and managing my self-expectations.Because of Baiba’s approach, as well as her manner, the sessions were always an enjoyable experience and an hour of each week that I looked forward to. Coordinating the sessions was very straight forward, and working via ZOOM made the sessions very convenient, and did not make opening up or engaging with the process any more difficult than working in-person. Baiba is a great therapist, and her direct and kind approach as well as her flexible therapy style worked extremely well for me. I would recommend working with her highly.”
“Baiba is very good at listening and asking back relevant questions. She really shakes your own assumptions and makes you realize there are other ways to see your own reality. My experience was very positive and I certainly would work with her again in the future.”
“It’s always overwhelming to find a therapist that will correspond to my expectations. Adding that on top of maybe already feeling stressed to the point of wanting to see a therapist just adds even more pressure. I have seen a few therapists in the past and even though each one had their own strengths, Baiba was the one that really resonated with me. She was always transparent about her practice and since day one I felt at home. One session after the other that relationship just strengthened and really felt like I was talking to another human being without some of the egos I have seen in other practices. Her sessions feel familiar and for an hour you really feel like you’re being listened to which then makes it easier for you to really entangle your thinking. She always makes important observations in key moments and makes you reframe things that otherwise it would be hard to do on your own. I always valued the fact that the sessions weren’t linear and we were tailoring the sessions to my needs as we went along.”
